Why eXp?

In June I decided to move from my beloved boutique brokerage here in Key West, FL to start the next chapter of my real estate career with the fastest growing, most technology forward brokerage on the planet and today I’m breaking down THE most asked question I’ve received since I decided to create ShineGroup and that is… “why did you partner with eXp”?

Ever heard the saying “when the student is ready the teacher appears”?

Welp, that was precisely what happened for me. After experiencing the housing frenzy of 2020 and 2021 I found myself burned out and overwhelmed in 2022. I was a solo agent and while I had an assistant and my first teammate I was struggling to keep my head above water. The overwhelm was really taking me away from the part of real estate that I enjoy the most which is the people.

One of my business goals for 2023 was to introduce technology to my business that would help me create more time and automate some of my systems that I had spend years creating. I stumbled upon the eXp brokerage model early in my search and it piqued my interest but I was also in the middle of our prime selling season and didn’t have the capacity to do the research that a move of this caliber was going to require.

Until April. Then I really started to dive in and research and not only did the eXp model offer the technology I was looking for but it also offered HEALTHCARE, a competitive split with a cap, retirement, revenue share, and most importantly a collaborative environment of agents doing exactly what I want to be doing.

So I scheduled a call to learn more. And then I thought about it. And scheduled another call. And thought about it. And couldn’t stop thinking about it. Because once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

And then I had one of the most difficult conversations of my career with one of my role models to let them know it was time for me to move on.

It was hard. And I cried. But I knew it was the right decision for the vision I have for my business.

When I got my brokers license in 2018 people started asking me when I was going to start my own brokerage my answer has always stayed the same… I’m not; I don’t want the responsibility. You see, dealing with NAR rulings and FREC Compliance isn’t what lights me up. It’s serving and helping people in my community and network that does it and my goal in creating ShineGroup is to help both my agents and clients create more time & peace of mind while designing a life that aligns with their long term goals.

I want to build and grow my team and vision and one of the things that I love about partnering with eXp is that they don’t want to change the way that I do my business, they just want to be the platform that I do my business on. eXp allows me to focus on the good stuff while they take care of the fluff.

I’m excited for what lies ahead and to continue to grow my business, team, and the SHINE movement.
